AGE121..now providing PTLLS course....

For those of you who are looking to become a teaching assistant, this is the post to pay attention to. AGE121 are now doing the well known PTLLS course for those wanting to needle their way in to the educational sector.

PTLLS : Preparing to teach in the LifeLong Learning Sector

With this course, candidates will gain the CIEH Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector –

The course is intended to introduce you to the knowledge and skills required to develop and deliver programmes, provide learning support and take responsibility in managing the learning process in post-16 education, as described in the syllabus.
This qualification meets the minimum standard for all those in or entering teaching in lifelong learning sector.

The qualification has been accredited onto the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) and is mapped to the Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) mandatory unit, which relates to the National Occupational Standards ‘Professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector’.

Successful candidates will be able to:
• understand their own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
• understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area

• understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
• understand the use of different assessment methods
• understand and analyse the need for accurate record keeping and procedures that can be adopted – including internal and external assessment information.

The programme is ideal for:
• those entering teaching or training roles
• those already in service who need the minimum threshold status as a teacher or trainer within a further education college, adult and community learning centre, or work based
learning or training provider organisation

Ok so you've decided where your heading...

Now that you have chosen a path, it's time to make sure that you're dressed to impress for the occasion.
Appearance is key; if you look the part, more than likely you will get the part.
Also, appearance is not just what you are wearing, it is how you are presented, i.e. grooming, hygiene, presentation of attire etc.

To make sure your appearance is impressionable, follow three simple steps:

1. Grooming (This includes hair, face and nails)

Wherever you're going make sure your hair is neat and tidy, and not looking like you just rolled out of bed. Whether it's an interview, training course first day or the first day of your new job, it is a day to appear presentable, not like your on the catwalk rocking the messy-bed-hair style, hoping it will catch on as the latest trend. It won't look cool. :( Also, guys, keep the facial hair well maintained and if possible, to a minimum. No out-in-the-jungle-running-wild beards please :P

Ladies, keep your make-up to a professional standard (in other words keep it subtle; you're not out on the pull on a Friday Night with your girlfriends. Take note from the above image; Angelina's got the right idea (and look how successful she is ;) )

Both guys and girls, should keep their nails clean and short. This way your hands look hygienic and neat, and there's no chance of you crying over a broken nail. But, if you want to keep your nails long, try not to have them looking like witches claws ; it's unprofessional and looks scary :)

2. Personal Hygiene

Keep it FRESH, Keep it CLEAN.
So simple you cannot go wrong :)

Don't be a Smelly Sam or a Smelly Sally :(

3. Professional Attire

A shirt, skirt/trousers and blazer is all you need to get the right look, especially for interviews. ;)
